Ask Someone Who Loves You
From looking at Instagram you can learn that everyone is more beautiful than you. But Instagram isn’t real life, it’s a beauty pageant.

From looking at Pinterest you can learn that everyone is more perfect than you. But Pinterest isn’t real life, it’s a fashion magazine.
From looking at LinkedIn you can learn that everybody is more successful than you. But LinkedIn isn’t real life. It’s a high school reunion.
Please do not judge yourself against people mugging in a beauty pageant, posing for a fashion magazine, or preening for their reunion.
If you want an accurate assessment of yourself, sit down and talk with somebody who loves you. Ask them to tell you about yourself. And whatever they tell you, believe them.
You are most likely to get a true read from a family member under the age of 12. But any friend will do.
People who love you are great at telling you what you need to hear. And that is this: You’re already beautiful, you’re already perfect, and you’re already successful.
You’re all of those things to the people who matter most, in the ways that matter most.
Try to remember that when you’re scrolling the socials this weekend.
